Last week , a devastating 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck Chile, and displaced over 1.5 million people. Many areas of the country were destroyed, and hundreds are said to be stuck in the rubble. This earthquake was even stronger than the one that hit Haiti recently, but the damage was far less extensive because of Chile's earthquake proof buildings. Now, aftershocks are constantly shaking the country and threats of tsunamis are terrifying. The Chilean government has not yet asked for assistance, but many countries, including the United States, are on stand-by ready to help.
